How It All Started - The Inspiration

We have all heard the expression before... "Walk to the beat of your own drum." That's me in a nutshell. I have always been in touch with my musical side... Growing up in a family 3 generations deep in radio broadcasting. Perhaps you could call it fate I would write songs as a kid, and pretend that I was playing them on the radio when doing my pretend show.

I didn't even know who some of the "greats" were until I grew older. I only wrote off of what I heard on the radio, or TV. It wasn't until my teenage years that I really began looking further into the sounds.

As I would listen to artist after artist, I would critique their sound and their flow... Many I would try and imitate to see if I could do the same style. I always rapped over the instrumental after I felt I knew the song well enough.

Needless to say, as I progressed in style I would begin using the instrumentals as my own template to start rapping and singing over, writing my own story to hear.

As time went on, I felt I had found my own style, and flow lyrically. I then began critiquing the instrumentals and hearing opportunities in places... So like they say, if you want it done right sometimes you have to do it yourself...
And I did...

So you are probably asking yourself, what does this have to do with his album?

It has everything to do with it... It's the beginning, because everyone's story starts somewhere...
